Tuesday, June 14th , at 07:25 AM Station 52 was dispatched for a Dwelling fire in the 42-02 box area of Salisbury Township. Both Engine 521 & Engine- Tanker 52 responded within minutes. Initial report was heavy smoke showing from the roof of a 2 story wood frame dwelling. On arrival Engine 521 took the 4th due Engine assignment, from an alley, stretching the 300 ft. across the neighbors yard to side "C" while Tanker 52 handled water supply on side "D". Two lines quickly knocked down the bulk of fire with the incident marked under control at 07:54 AM. At the time of this alarm the property was vacant awaiting sale. It is believed the fire was caused by a lightning strike from a severe storm which went thru the area minutes before dispatch.
