At 0416hrs Saturday morning, Company 52 was alerted to assist Gap Fire & Rescue with a reported Equipment Shed on fire at 5647 Umbletown Road in Salisbury Township. Deputy 42 was on the scene minutes later confirming the report as a working Barn fire. Engine 52-1 (Chief Reimold) was on the street within minutes with staffing of 6 personnel followed by Tanker 52-2 (Lt Stoltzfus) and Tanker 52-1 (Captain Lofgren) with a staffing of 7. Incoming for Engine 52-1 was to enter via the second drive and send available manpower to staging. Tanker’s 52-2 & 52-1 both arrived staging on the hard road and sent their personnel in to assist. 52 crew members assisted Gap in in overhauling the downed portion of the machine shed by removing debris and tin. An aggressive attack by Gap units held the fire to the attached equipment shed and did not extend into the barn.
