Crews gathered up early Sunday morning and boarded Engine 52-1 for a trek to Avondale Fire, Chester County. “52” members were invited to assist our brothers to the south for their Festival of Flight – Car & Air Show. Engine 52-1 (FF T. Swift) with a crew of 6 personnel set out and arrived around 1030hrs this morning. Crews were quickly assigned a staging area in case emergencies arose. As events began to come to a close, Engine 52-1 and its crew were released and headed back to Lancaster County around 1530hrs.

While some Christiana members enjoyed the day at the air show, others had work to do. Just before noon, 52 was hit for both Tankers to assist Westwood Fire at 3186 Strasburg Road in East Fallowfield Township Chester County. Chester crews had been alerted several minutes earlier and arrived to find a working barn fire at that location.

Tanker 52-1 (FF M. Swift) streeted minutes after dispatch with a crew of 6 personnel followed by Tanker 52-2. Both tankers arrived and began shuttling water while sending available manpower to assist in the manpower pool. Crews worked several hours and both tankers hauled over 25,000 gallons of water before being released at 1627hrs.
