Tuesday October 7 began bright and early with many “52” members attending the annual Octorara Area School District’s Fire Prevention. Engine 52-1 and Tanker 52-2 were among other apparatus from Cochranville Fire, KVFD and Christiana Ambulance to attend the annual event where general topics of fire safety are covered. Units cleared the Octorara campus around 1500hrs.

Soon after arrival back in town, the alert went out for a pumper tanker transfer to Chester County, Avondale Fire. Avondale along with several other companies were involved a working structure fire and requested cover resources for their area. Tanker 52-1 marked up moments later with 6 personnel and arrived at station 23 at 1530hrs.

Crews maintained the standby with Oxford Engine 21-2 until called out for a Vehicle Accident at 1718hrs to 936 Newark Road in New Garden Township. Members were given cleanup detail as well as assist in patient packaging. Crews returned back to station 23 at 1819hrs before being released from the cover detail.
