Wednesday evening found the Fire & Rescue Products trailer backed into the bay at the Christiana Fire hall to deliver a much awaited purchase. As mentioned back in March 2013, Christiana along with several others stations whom had submitted a regional grant application to The Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program, were notified of the awarded grant in excess of $400,000.00. After months awaiting approvals on the new 2013 NFPA standards, all of the SCBA arrived to be sorted and reviewed that night.

Thanks again to John Sly for writing and submission of the grant as well as the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program, administered by the department's Directorate for Preparedness through its Office of Grants and Training in cooperation with the United States Fire Administration, also a division of the Preparedness Directorate.

Christiana members look to have training wrapped up and all SCBA in service by the end of May 2014.
