With spring approaching and several days of nicer weather, there is no doubt that brush season has begun. At 1242hrs Saturday afternoon, Christiana Fire was alerted for a Tanker transfer to Quarryville Fire as they were out working a large corn fodder blaze with Rawlinsville units.
Tanker 52-2 made the response and arrived to cover the territory with Rescue 57 in case something else came in. That something else was dispatched at 1305hrs for a reported brush fire on the side of the road near Buck and Cinder roads in East Drumore Township.
Deputy 57 arrived and reported a working road bank fire. Rescue 57 arrived and pulled a suppression line while Tanker 2 set up for the supply. Units clear at 1349hrs. Tanker 2 reported back to Q-ville to finish out the cover.

***Tanker 2 was also part of a transfer along with Bart Fire on Wednesday (03/12) as 57 crews worked a house fire in Wakefield. Standby’s ran an MVA at Fifth and Chestnut Streets while on the cover. |
